Embarking on a journey into Arhatic Yoga has been a transformative chapter in my life—one filled with profound insights and continuous growth. Over the years, I've often found myself entangled in the web of my own thoughts, much like so many of us do. Daily life would often be a cycle of ruminating on past events or feeling the weight of anxiety about an uncertain future. However, it was through Arhatic Yoga that I began to reclaim my inner peace.

Discovering Arhatic Yoga

When I first encountered Arhatic Yoga, it was as if a veil had been lifted. This practice offered a structured path to navigate through life's complexities with a sense of calm and focus. The journey began with an invitation to explore layers of healing, confronting deep-seated fears, identifying self-sabotaging behaviors, and recognizing persistent triggers. Each step forward has been a process of unwinding these knots, allowing me to embrace a life rooted in harmony and mindfulness.

The Five Pillars of Arhatic Yoga

At the heart of Arhatic Yoga are the Five Pillars, each providing a foundation for spiritual growth:

  1. Devotion to the Supreme Being and Reverence to the Spiritual Teacher: This pillar fosters a sense of profound respect and connection to the divine and to those who guide us on our spiritual journey.

  2. Purifications: Through both inner and outer purification, we cleanse ourselves of negativity, paving the way for spiritual clarity and growth.

  3. Meditations: Regular meditation practices deepen our connection to the inner self, enhancing stillness and fostering profound insights.

  4. Tithing and Service: By giving back to the community and serving others, we cultivate gratitude and strengthen our connection to humanity.

  5. Study: Continuous learning and understanding of spiritual teachings keep us on the path of growth and enlightenment.

Practicing the Virtues

In addition to the pillars, Arhatic Yoga emphasizes building character through dedicated practice of virtues such as:

  • Loving Kindness and Non-Injury: Operating from a place of love and compassion.

  • Generosity and Non-Stealing: Embracing a spirit of giving.

  • Honesty and Non-Lying: Upholding truth in all interactions.

By diligently practicing Arhatic Yoga, I have become a more heart-centered individual, operating from a place of love, compassion, understanding, and forgiveness. Every day, I strive to embody these virtues, and the transformation has been profound. Over the more than five years of consistent practice, I've witnessed significant change in my life, and I am committed to continuing this journey for the rest of my days.
